In Microsoft Excel I have created three projects that incorporate different features of it. They are:
1- VLOOKUP function:
Vlookup is a function in Microsoft Excel that enables users to type a value of one cell to see that value of a corresponding cell in the same row. Hence, it looks up for specific information quickly, accurately from spreadsheets.
In school environment, teachers can utilize this function in students mark sheets. Therefore, when referring to this function teachers can use a unique value such as students index number, since index numbers are different for all the pupils. This function is helpful because it helps to avoid mistakes when teachers enter marks to the final sheet. In addition, this function is useful in business environment. Shopkeepers can use this function to search a price of an item using the item code or item name.
In this portfolio I have included a mark sheet created by applying Vlookup function and a sample price list created to search prices using item code and item.

I assure, to ensure the accuracy of calculation and the ability of searching, VLOOKUP function is more suitable and reliable for educators and businessmen to look up for specific information due to its friendly and easy steps involved. Hence, this function brings a solution for teachers to avoid the risk of making mistakes when entering marks using equal sign(=) method.
2- Charts:
Charts are used to display values or numbers in a meaningful way to the viewers. In schools, charts can be used to show and compare number of students who pass, fail, show students averages, grades and so on. In business organizations charts can be used to communicate their growth to its stakeholders. Hence, charts can say more than a sheet full of numerals or data.
Charts can be created in MS word even, although Microsoft Word is not designed to manipulate data like in Microsoft Excel. To create charts in MS Word, it uses data from MS Excel. Its pretty easy to create charts on both applications since it requires users to select data from MS Excel.
This portfolio comprises a bar chart created in Microsoft Excel, based on the table via VLOOKUP function is applied. The chart shows subject averages of different subjects.

3- Drop Down List and use of 'IF' formula:
Drop down list is created using a feature called Data Validation in MS Excel. Drop down list makes the data entry easier enabling to create a handy list within the worksheet.
In schools, teachers can create multiple choice questions for students to work out. To make the set of questions interactive and in order to give points and feedback to students, teachers can rate students work by applying formula using 'if condition'. Furthermore, Excel provides the protection of individual cells and the worksheet using a password where users are unable to modify, move or delete any data provided.
Although, teachers are able to prepare questionnaire on Excel , they can use Microsoft PowerPoint to create more interactive multiple choice questions for diverse learning styles, due to several features it possess.
Below is a set of multiple choice questions, to which I have incorporated drop down list and 'IF' formula in MS Excel.
